Not motivated to try and live a little healthier ??
Rest assured , you are not alone. And the battle to get into the right head space, to tackle a new challenge, is the hardest part of it all. I think perhaps ‘change is as good as a holiday’ doesn’t necessarily apply here as you will need to put in the effort to make it work.
For me, a quick look in the mirror one morning, and it was my light bulb moment to get started. ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ and a detox is not a quick fix (there are no quick fixes , unfortunately), but see it as the boost we need to get started towards the ‘new’ you.
We’ve all heard someone say that its 80% what you eat and 20% exercise, which is the key to your weight loss success. And with today’s busy lifestyle, perhaps it’s better for most of us, as we can’t all hit the gym or squeeze in training sessions 4 to 5 times a week.
- Start small and figure out what works for you.
- Check the family schedule – to find where you can squeeze in at least 30 minutes of ‘me’ time a few times per week.
- Incorporate whole foods that you buy regularly and enjoy eating, and items you can incorporate in family meals.
- Get rid of sugary drinks, processed foods and unhealthy take out.

Once you’ve decided to commit, you could be overwhelmed with all the information available. Your google search can keep you reading for days on end. Try this! , do that! , eat this! , buy that!, sleep now !
Don’t get me wrong, reading and educating yourself on the topic will definitely help you on your journey . Don’t let the abundance of information discourage you . Take from it what you can use in your life, create your own mash-up of the tons of articles you read, and tailor it to what works for you. Nothing is carved in stone and your journey will be ever changing. You will need to adapt all the time.
